Με αύξηση του μεριδίου αγοράς στο κανάλι του φαρμακείου στην Ελλάδα, ενίσχυση της λειτουργικής κερδοφορίας και ενδυνάμωση της παρουσίας του στις αγορές προτεραιότητας του εξωτερικού, κλείνει το Ά τρίμηνο του 2013 για τον όμιλο ΚΟΡΡΕΣ. Συγκεκριμένα στις χώρες όπου επικεντρώνει το ενδιαφέρον του ο όμιλος – ανάμεσα στις οποίες Γερμανία, Ρωσία, Αγγλία, Γαλλία και Σκανδιναβία – σημειώθηκε αύξηση της τάξεως του 18%.

Σε επίπεδο κύκλου εργασιών, οι ενοποιημένες πωλήσεις του Ομίλου το πρώτο τρίμηνο του 2013, επηρεασμένες από το ότι η Johnson & Johnson παράγει πλέον κυρίως η ίδια τα προϊόντα που διανέμει στην Β. Αμερική καθώς και την οριακή μείωση πωλήσεων στην Ελλάδα, διαμορφώθηκαν στα €12,0 εκ. από €12,5 εκ. 

Τα αναπροσαρμοσμένα κέρδη προ τόκων, φόρων και αποσβέσεων, εάν αφαιρεθεί η επίπτωση εκτάκτου κόστους αναδιοργάνωσης περιλαμβανομένων μη επαναλαμβανόμενων ενεργειών αναδιάρθρωσης των απαιτήσεων στις οποίες προέβη ο Όμιλος  δεδομένου του δυσμενούς οικονομικού περιβάλλοντος που προβλέπεται (αναπροσαρμοσμένα EBITDA) ,  αυξήθηκαν κατά 3,6% στα €3,0 εκ. το πρώτο τρίμηνο του 2013 από €2,9 εκ. το αντίστοιχο διάστημα του 2012, αποτέλεσμα της  μείωσης του λειτουργικού κόστους .Τα κέρδη προ τόκων, φόρων και αποσβέσεων (EBITDA) του Ομίλου μετά την αφαίρεση και του παραπάνω κόστους αναδιοργάνωσης ανήλθαν στα  €2,3 εκ. το πρώτο τρίμηνο του  2013.

Οι θετικές λειτουργικές ταμειακές ροές ανέρχονται στα €1,6 εκ. από €-1,3 εκ. το πρώτο τρίμηνο του 2012, αποτέλεσμα της βελτίωσης του λειτουργικού κόστους και των προσπαθειών της διοίκησης για αποτελεσματικότερη διαχείριση του κεφαλαίου κίνησης.

Τα καθαρά αποτελέσματα μετά από φόρους και δικαιώματα μειοψηφίας ανήλθαν στα €-0,1 εκ. το πρώτο τρίμηνο του  2013 από €0,9 εκ. το αντίστοιχο διάστημα του 2012. Αν εξαιρεθεί η παραπάνω επιβάρυνση αναδιοργάνωσης,  τα καθαρά αποτελέσματα μετά από φόρους και δικαιώματα μειοψηφίας θα αντιστοιχούσαν σε €0,6 εκ. κέρδη. 

Στην Ελλάδα,  παρόλο που το οικονομικό περιβάλλον δεν παρουσίασε σημάδια βελτίωσης,  ο όμιλος διατήρησε τα επίπεδα του πρώτου τριμήνου του 2012, αυξάνοντας περαιτέρω το μερίδιο αγοράς του στο κανάλι του φαρμακείου παρά την οριακή μείωση πωλήσεων [1,5%], αποτέλεσμα της συνεχόμενης στήριξης στρατηγικών κατηγοριών：

•στη φροντίδα προσώπου λάνσαρε τον ορό ολικής αναδόμησης Μαύρη Πεύκη, μια φόρμουλα βασισμένη σε ανακάλυψη που έχει βραβευτεί με NOBEL Χημείας
•στην αντιηλιακή φροντίδα, ανέπτυξε μία σειρά νέας γενιάς αντιηλιακών με τριπλή δράση – αντιηλιακή, αντιρυτιδική, κατά των πανάδων – βασισμένη σε καινοτόμο δραστικό από φυτικά βλαστοκύτταρα Κόκκινου Σταφυλιού

Παράλληλα, ο όμιλος υποστήριξε τις στρατηγικές του κατηγορίες με διαφήμιση [τηλεοπτική / έντυπη / ηλεκτρονική] και  με ενέργειες στο βασικό κανάλι διανομής του  [Φαρμακείο].

Στο εξωτερικό σημαντική ήταν η ανάπτυξη των πωλήσεων σε Γερμανία, Γαλλία, Αγγλία, Ρωσία και Σκανδιναβικές χώρες. Στόχος του ομίλου στις συγκεκριμένες αγορές, είναι η περαιτέρω ενδυνάμωση της μάρκας στα σημεία ημι-επιλεκτικής διανομής και στα φαρμακεία, τόσο μέσω προωθητικών ενεργειών όσο και με την τοποθέτηση νέων προϊόντων.

Ο πρόεδρος του Ε.Β.Ε.Π., κ. Β. Κορκίδης, επανέλαβε ότι «η απρόσκοπτη λειτουργία και βελτίωση του Γ.Ε.ΜΗ. είναι ένα στοίχημα που πρέπει όλοι να κερδίσουμε. EurActiv: Commissioner calls for end to roaming charges in EU

Digital Agenda Commissioner Neelie Kroes on Thursday (30 May) called for an end to mobile roaming charges before the next European elections, and said mobile network operators should no longer be able to block telecommunications services such as Skype.

Speaking to the European Parliament, Kroes said she wanted Europeans to be able to see what the EU is doing for them ahead of elections to be held on 22-25 May 2014.

“Will you join me in building something special between now and the European elections," she asked the MEPs. “I want us to show citizens that the EU is relevant to their lives. I want you to be able to go back to your constituents and say that you were able to end mobile roaming costs.”

Kroes said the EU could deliver a ”full, final” legislative package to end roaming charges “around Easter 2014”.

Kroes’ proposal would go well beyond previous Commission efforts to cap roaming charges on cross-border calls and messaging.

Building a bridge with citizens

Kroes, who is not running for another term at the Commission, said she wanted to give MEPs the “full share of credit” for “building a bridge” to EU voters. She said the proposal could reach young people – “the generation that cares most about being connected, but who votes the least”.

“If we do this right, then digital connections can bring political connections. Digital dividends can bring social ones. … Whether they need it for travel, for trade, or for transactions – our people need this reform,” Kroes said.

The commissioner's spokesman, Ryan Heath, said telecom operators did not oppose the move because it would spur demand. Telecommunication executives had told Kroes that they had been wrong to oppose caps on roaming charges, he said.

“That’s a case of a real win-win. It’s not a total shock for the companies,” he said.

Telecom companies may not be so easy to convince by the move to guarantee network neutrality, which would mean ending restrictions on internet communications services.

The neutrality principle implies that no provider can prioritise traffic on the network for economic reasons. A recent report showed that at least 20%, and potentially up to half of EU mobile broadband users, have contracts that allow their internet service provider (ISP) to restrict communications services or peer-to-peer file sharing. Some 20% of fixed operators also enforce service restrictions that limit Internet speed.

Companies blocking services like Skype "will really have to face the competition," Heath said. "They will no longer be able to block Skype because its suits them. That’s going to come at a cost for them, but it’s going to help more companies than it hurts

New EU data protection rules could collapse because of ‘excessive lobbying’, foot-dragging by MEPs, and entanglement in trade negotiations with the United States, Europe’s chief data protection watchdog warned yesterday (29 May).
“There is some concern about excessive lobbying and circulating messages that create wrong impressions,” Peter Hustinx, the European data protection supervisor, told journalists after delivering his annual report to the European Parliament’s civil liberties, justice and home affairs committee.

The review process for the new rules had attracted “enormous attention from industry alleging that data protection rules are a hindrance to innovation”, he said, adding there had been a “full-court press” to influence the legislation.

Right to be forgotten

Hustinx singled out the “right to be forgotten” – a proposal in the data protection regulation designed to protect individuals from having their data retained by internet operators – as a key target of lobbyists.

“The Commission emphasis on the right to be forgotten has created an enormous feedback that nothing should be forgotten, and it’s overstated,” Hustinx said.

He said that it was important to “distinguish the proposal from the rhetoric”. Although the proposal “cannot be delivered in all its details in practice”, he said its emphasis on imposing time limits on the retention of data and stipulating when data should be erased would be welcome.

Many of the provisions in the proposed regulation “make eminent sense” and could be achieved through stronger privacy by design, Hustinx said, adding that business interests from abroad and within Europe had overstated claims that implementing the rules would be too costly and stifle innovation.

Lobbying has stalled passage of the legislation. The Commission’s proposals got off to a good start, Hustinx said, adding that the Irish EU presidency had worked “very very hard – put in extra time” in an attempt to reach agreements.

“But the Parliament seems to slow down, and latest language this morning [29 May] was maybe [agreement on the issues would come] not before the summer, maybe in September,” Hustinx said, adding: “Well, then, time is running out on us, and we cannot afford to fail.”

Trade deal could slow things down

Hustinx said he was he was “ringing this bell” because “this is not only the hot period but also the delivery time”. Failure to approve the legislation before the Parliament’s tenure ends next year would “have serious repercussions in terms of economic development” and offer a bonus to the lobbyists, he said.

Hustinx also warned that a “coalition mixing Transatlantic business interests” was seeking to join negotiation over the new data protection rules to attempts by the EU and the US to reach a comprehensive free trade agreement.

“It is not going to be helpful in finding the solutions we need,” he said, stating that impending EU-US trade talks could further delay the legislation.

2013 is Darwinian tipping point year for telecoms industry: ‘Evolve or die!’ according to IDATE research

Leading European think tank sees key to success lies in strong strategic relationships with other industry players such as content delivery providers

 

Brussels, 30^th May 2013 – IDATE, the No. 1 European Internet Think tank, today has published the 13^th edition of its DigiWorld Yearbook, the Bible of the internet industry, and the de facto international source of reference for media, cloud, telecoms and internet industry trends. IDATE experts provide a concise and easy to read reference manual of the digital world, including key figures and a look at the latest innovations and key events that marked telecom, internet and media markets during 2012.

In the Yearbook preface, IDATE Institute Chairman, François Barrault, warns readers that the current state of affairs is not solely the result of the economic crisis, or Schumpeterian creative destruction. Especially at a time when ‘digital innovation remains an essential vehicle of productivity and a new growth cycle’. Which segues nicely into Barrault’s announcement of the theme chosen for this year’s DigiWorld Summit – taking place in Montpellier on 20 and 21 November 2013 – which will be the very timely titled: ‘Digital Gold Mines’.  

The Digital World growth dropped in 2012: Telcos advised: ‘Embrace innovation: Evolve or die!’

The Digital World has reported a sizeable drop in revenue during 2012, with growth decreasing to 2.7% after two steady years of recovery. Didier Pouillot, who heads up the DigiWorld YearBook project, says, ‘Equipment markets took a severe battering in 2012, with unit sales shrinking in virtually every category and pressure on prices almost wiping out any of the benefits of customer upgrades. The TV market was the hardest hit, which dragged the entire consumer electronics market down by 7%’.

But increased competition in the smartphone and tablet markets offers a glimmer of hope for the other two sectors. And although services markets can be said have weathered the storm, relatively speaking, it seems highly unlikely that they will find their way back to the growth rates of the mid-2000s, and even less to the double-digit increases of the late 1990s.

The sole exception here being internet (OTT) services which continue to grow by an average 20%. Pouillot expands ‘Telcos do have certain leverage to deal with this change, starting with creating more value from network access now that OTT services are increasing user consumption. NGN technologies allow telcos to increase speeds (‘best network’ strategy) and to introduce noticeable quality improvements, both of which can differentiate their offerings. But it is clear 2013 is a pivotal year and telcos must embrace innovation. A simple Darwinian case of evolve or die!’

IDATE is nevertheless keen to stress that digital innovation is far from exhausted. In his introduction IDATE CEO, Yves Gassot, reaffirms the three driving forces behind digital innovation today, namely mobile, cloud computing and big data. Gassot takes a look back at the headlines of recent months, and develops his analysis around several key points:

-       the recession in Europe’s telecom market strikes a contrast with the progress being made over in the United States, boosted by 4G rollouts and the prospect of a new round of mergers;

-       the tremendous weight that the internet giants have acquired should not blind us to how fragile these positions really are (Apple), and the multifarious pressures they have to contend with.

Καταληκτική Συμφωνία για τη Μεταρρύθμιση της Κοινής Αλιευτικής Πολιτικής

Η Επιτροπή μαζί με το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο και το Ευρωπαϊκό Συμβούλιο, ως συν-νομοθέτες, κατέληξαν κατά την τελευταία τριμερή τους συνεδρίαση, σε συμφωνία- τα ξημερώματα της Πέμπτης 30/5/2013 - σχετικά με τη Μεταρρύθμιση της Κοινής Αλιευτικής Πολιτικής.

Μετά το πέρας της κοινής τριμερούς συνεδρίασης, πραγματοποιήθηκε κοινή Συνέντευξη Τύπου της Επιτρόπου κ. Μαρίας Δαμανάκη με τον Προεδρεύοντα του Συμβουλίου Ιρλανδό Υπουργό Αλιείας κ. Simon Coveney και τους αρμόδιους Ευρωβουλευτές κ. Ulrike Rodust (S&D, DE) και κ. Mato Adrover (EPP, ES).

Σχετικά με τη Συμφωνία, η Επίτροπος κ. Μαρία Δαμανάκη δήλωσε ότι:

«Αυτό είναι ένα ιστορικό βήμα για όλους όσους εμπλέκονται στους τομείς της αλιείας και της υδατοκαλλιέργειας. Στο μέλλον, πρόκειται να αλλάξουμε ριζικά τον τρόπο που ψαρεύουμε.

Ανοίγουμε το δρόμο σε ένα βιώσιμο μέλλον για τους αλιείς μας και τη βιομηχανία μας. Αυτό θα το επιτύχουμε με την αύξηση των ιχθυαποθεμάτων σε ποσοστά πάνω από τα βιώσιμα επίπεδα. Με την ευθυγράμμιση των αλιευτικών δυνατοτήτων μας με τις επιστημονικές οδηγίες. Με τη διακοπή των απορρίψεων  ψαριών πίσω στη θάλασσα νεκρών, όταν αυτά δεν βρίσκονται σε εμπορεύσιμο μέγεθος και με την παύση όλων των άλλων σπάταλων πρακτικών.

Τις ίδιες αρχές θα εφαρμόσουμε , όταν ψαρεύουμε εκτός της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης. Θα σεβαστούμε πλήρως το διεθνές δίκαιο και τις δεσμεύσεις μας.

Θα σταματήσουμε τη συγκεντρωτική πρακτική  όλες οι  αποφάσεις να παίρνονται στις Βρυξέλλες. Η μικροδιαχείριση δε θα είναι πλέον ο τρόπος λειτουργίας μας. Οι αποφάσεις θα παίρνονται στην περιφέρεια. Θα συνεργαστούμε με τις περιφερειακές αρχές και τα ενδιαφερόμενα μέλη ώστε να βρεθούν συγκεκριμένες και προσαρμοσμένες λύσεις για κάθε πρόβλημα.

Τέλος, πρόκειται να αλλάξουμε την πολιτική της αγοράς μας, παρέχοντας καλύτερη πληροφόρηση στους καταναλωτές έτσι ώστε οι αλιείς μας να μπορούν να επιτυγχάνουν για τα ψάρια την τιμή που τους αξίζει.


Η Μεταρρύθμιση της Κοινής Αλιευτικής Πολιτικής είναι μια ισχυρή κινητήρια δύναμη για την ανάπτυξη και την απασχόληση, σε μια στιγμή που η Ευρώπη τη χρειάζεται περισσότερο από ποτέ.

Είμαι ευγνώμων τόσο στην κ. Rodust όσο και στον Υπουργό κ. Coveney για την αφοσίωσή τους και την επίμονη προσπάθεια τους ώστε να πραγματοποιηθεί η σημερινή  Συμφωνία. Θα ήθελα επίσης να ευχαριστήσω το Συμβούλιο των Υπουργών και το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο για την ανοικτή και ισορροπημένη προσέγγισή τους καθʼ όλη τη διαδικασία των διαπραγματεύσεων.

Το επόμενο βήμα, για μένα, είναι να υπάρξει  η ίδια ενεργητική στάση και στην εφαρμογή των μεταρρυθμίσεων, ώστε να επιβεβαιωθεί η επιτυχία για τη βιομηχανία, για τους πολίτες μας και για την οικονομία της Ευρώπης.»
